Phillip Flugel is no longer bored.

Nothing says bicycle safety like riding while wearing a creepy monkey/skeleton mask that you can barely see out of.

Happy Sunday.

This could be the most confusing thing I’ve ever seen.

If you bop it, there is pain; if you break it, you are dead.

When I think hip-hop, I think Sprocket’s Bicycle Safety Camp.

Kevin Cyr

We’ve been following Kevin Cyr for a couple of years, now, and we love his work. (We even have some of it hanging in the office.)

He has a show opening in San Francisco, this weekend: Temporal Surfaces: New Works by Kevin Cyr and Jessica Hess.
It opens Saturday, March 6th from 7-11pm at White Walls in San Francisco.

Make sure to check out his work, and if you’re in San Fran, hit up the show and support.

Erin M Riley

We’ve been getting really into Erin M Riley’s art here at the office. She hand-weaves images she culls from photos.
Ms. Riley’s work grows from her fascination with, “the vulnerability that men feel, but do not show.” Make sure to
read her artist’s statement; she lays it out much better than we ever could.

This piece in particular, really gets her ideas across, we think.
Plus, we’re suckers for anything El Camino.

We need trading cards.

Saw this old basketball card, today, and I’ve decided that we need
to make trading cards with design is as amazing as this one. Happy Sunday.

Piracy

So, we’ve been following the case of a Boston University student who was convicted of illegally downloading 30 songs and is facing a fine of $22,500 per song. Anybody else remember the old, “Home Taping Is Killing Music,” slogan the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) used in the 1980’s, because they were convinced mix tapes were ruining their business?

Anyway, the verdict made me think of the Dead Kennedy’s 1981, “In God We Trust, Inc,” album; Side B read, “Home taping is killing record industry profits! We left this side blank so you can help.”

Obviously tapes did ruin the industry and bankrupted all the studios as evidenced by the fact that the e.5.charlie offices are much more palatial than Fitty’s house. So, three cheers for the “Justice System.”; nothing says America like being fairly judged by a jury of your peers…

Nobody does TV like the Japanese.

I have no idea what is going on here, but it’s pretty awesome. The costumes are really the Pièce de résistance .

‘Price is Right,’ eat your heart out.

A rapper has to have a posse to back him up.

Wow.

INTER-DIMENSIONAL TRAVEL: Very soon, I hope to leave planet earth, not in a religious suicide but “taken” (beamed-up or teleported) to Heaven in the First of Two Rapture Events. This Evacuation – Escape is for all of the true and worthy Followers of JESUS. (ETD: 2010-2011 AD). I believe this Event will happen days after War explodes across the mideast, starting when Israel hits Iran and the world plunges into economic and social collapse. The question to ask yourself is, “WHERE WILL YOU BE WHEN THE SCREAMING STARTS?” Pastor Harry/Church of Philadelphia- Internet. (Lu:21:34-36 = Mt:24:40-44 = Rev:3:10).

So…..
The brains behind this absolutely amazing site is “Pastor Harry,” who sounds like he might be a real character, you know, somebody to have a couple of drinks with. Or not. You can check out his teachings/preachings/general insanity, here .

I’m not even sure what to write about this site. It’s just too massive and full of so much information. Amazing information…

The flying saucer with the swastika on it is a nice touch, though. I think it adds just the correct amount of gravity to his message. -2/17/2009

Moustache.

The power of facial hair really is unbelievable; this guy looks like he should be drinking Listerine and panhandling, rather than get it on with this blonde. You’ve been wrong all these years, mom: showing a little belly, short shorts, and sporting a moustache will get you laid.

For more goodies like this, check out: 70’s Porn. -2/10/2010

Cargo Trade Show

We’re going to be at the Cargo Trade Show in New York City Monday the 19th and Tuesday the 20th, so swing by and check us out if you’re in in the city. Cargo is not only one of the coolest shows we exhibit at, but it’s also one of the only shows open to the public. Come by and gave a beer with us -7/19/2009

Mother Mary

So, we’ve been getting really into Jose Guadalupe Posada’s work, lately. If you haven’t checked him out, you should; not only is it absolutely amazing stuff, but he’s a really important Mexican artist, and his work really influenced the design for this tee. They’re already going really fast to stores, so grab one before they’re gone. But more importantly, educate yourself about Mr. Posada. In the words of Biggie, “If you don’t know, now you…”

The Melons Deck

We just got our first skate decks in, and they look f#%king awesome.

Up close, you can’t tell what they are, but get a couple of feet away and…

R.I.P. Michael

This shirt has been one of our best sellers for 2 years, but we just decided to retire the shirt last month, so we’ve only got a few left in stock. We haven’t printed it in over a year, but we’re starting to run out of sizes.

Scoop them up before they’re gone forever.

Front lower left print on a silver or light blue 100% cotton, jersey knit tee.

By Any Tees Necessary

We’re impressed with ourselves: not only did we drop 4 new tees in five days, but we also managed to update this blog twice in less than a week. We should get ourselves an award. Or maybe, we’ll just take ourselves out and get us drunk. Wow, that was as awkward to write as it was for you to read, no doubt.

Anyhow, have a great Memorial Day, and buy some shirts so we can afford to drink twice as much this weekend as we usually do.

- 5/22/2009

B.A. Barackus

As always, we suck at updating the blog, so you should all just subscribe to our company twitter, ‘cause we’re big enough dorks that we update it all the time.

Check out the two new tees we just dropped because they’re really hot, and they’re not going to last long.

The Highlighter Pink Tricky Dicky Joint

Nice. I managed to post 3 days in a row. I deserve some sort of medal/award/biscuit/bj or something…

Anyway, we just got done with a great photo shoot/art collabo (Gracias, Diego), and the Pink Tricky Dicky Tee is ready to roll the fuck out, as some might say. This one is pretty limited; we only managed to a half a grip of these shirts, so get them while you can. You rock this tee, you’re gonna’ get noticed. Trust me; it’s really bright. – 3/26/2009

Twitter

Yeah, we started using it. And, it’s actually pretty fun to be able to talk shit to all of our friends around the globe at any second of the day. If you want to follow our tweets, add e5charlie or just click here: e.5.charlie twitter page – 3/25/2009

New Blackhouse Tee

Wow, it’s only been two months since I updated the blog. I’m definitely keeping up with this thing.
Don’t worry:we’ve been busy. Just added two new tees to the men’s section, and I’m waiting on some models to show up so we can shoot photos for a couple other new designs.
Keep checking up on us. You won’t be disappointed. – 3/24/2009

Come Check Us Out.

We’ll be out supporting our boys from Mayan Tamang.
Shit is gonna’ be poppin’, so don’t sleep.

As Always...

I suck at keeping this joint up to date. We’ve been busy, busy, busy, though.
All heads in the NYC area, we’re going to be at the Cargo show next Monday and Tuesday, so come by and check us out if you’re around.

(click on the image to view it in a new window)

We’ve got a bunch of new designs we’ll be unveiling, so it’s going to be worth it. -1/14/2009

Election Day. Make sure to vote!!!

Make sure to get out to the polling stations and make your choice, no matter what it is.
Remember, if you don’t help in the kitchen, you can’t fucking complain about how bad the food is, later.

New Shirts And Zines.

We just added three new women’s shirts, two new men’s shirts, and a whole bunch of new ‘zines and books.
Make sure and check them out. And, while we’re horrible at updating the blog, at least we haven’t started dressing up our models like at this fancy Martin Margiela show:

We've been busy...

In fact, too busy to update the blog. MAGIC went awesome! We made a lot of friends, saw some old ones, and made a bunch of great, new contacts.

Our booth looked really great, and we got tons of compliments on it, so we’re really happy with that.

We managed to catch up with the “King of Grills” himself, and he loved the Tricky Dicky joint.

More updates coming soon. (I just didn’t want to leave the site the same for so long…) -9-9-2008

Off to Magic.

Well, we’re off to our second MAGIC apparel trade show in lovely Las Vegas. And, this year, we even prepared for it as opposed to just getting perma-drunk in the weeks leading up to it. If anybody is out there, come visit us at booth STU 31105 and say what’s up. And finally, the show doesn’t really have anything to do with sorcery. We just wanted to dork out and use that sweet wizard painting. It looks more like this:

Ummmm...

So, Milwaukee finally got it’s ass in gear and put up a Fonz statue… Seriously, though, they put up a bronze statue that looks nothing like Henry Winkler’s character in a city in which no actual scene was filmed. Amazing. But, not as amazing as Mr. Winkler’s quote at the private unveiling,”“To see it in real life and that it exists it’s just, it’s just unbelievable. It really is,” Winkler told the invite-only crowd and others gathered nearby trying to hear.”(AP) We’re jealous we weren’t invited; we love swanky, exclusive shin-digs. We can all rest easier, tonight, though, knowing that good ole’ Henry finally got his due… 8/20/2008

Dos Nueva Ladies Tee's

We just added two new ladie’s tees that we think are pretty special. As it’s Friday, and we want to go out reveling and carousing, we’re done shooting photos, so the men’s joints won’t be up ‘till Monday. Sorry, but you’re just going to have to deal with it. 8/15/2008

China, Biatches.

One of our favorite stores, Noise, in Beijing, is featured in this web tv clip about smoking in China. If you look closely (1:17 in) you can see one of our shirts. We’re dorks and thought that was pretty fucking bad-ass. And, as I always like to do to see if anybody reads the crap that I write, tell me which shirt it is, and we’ll send you a super-huge-amazing discount code. – 8/9/2008

PEEL Book Plus 3 New Shirts

We just got PEEL: The Art of The Sticker in stock, and we’re really excited about it. This hardcover is really high quality (and we’re definitely not biased because we’re in it….) Plus, we just added three new shirts, tonight: Men’s and Women’s Teal D’Lions (the orange is really bright and really awesome) and the Tricky Dicky joint in women’s sizes. And, just to see if anybody actually reads these, here’s a code for 30% off your order: PP0308. -8/3/2008

Alex?...

We just put up a new shirt in response to the wonderful drama unfolding with the whole Alex Rodriguez/Madonna disaster. As ridiculous as it is, we kind of feel that their problems are much like the sun. We know we’re not supposed to, but we just can’t help but look… -8/1/2008

La Pequena (plus two new women's shirts)

We just added two new women’s shirts: the Bedtime for Georgie joint and the navy Arcade tee.
That, and we just wanted an excuse to put a clip up of the weirdest, craziest shit that we’ve ever seen. Now, all we need to do is figure out how to get “La Pequena” to model for us… -7/30/2008

We've been terrible at this.

We’ve been terrible at updating our site. We mean to add our new products and write witty things on our blog, but when it ultimately comes down to it, the whole lot of us is a bunch of shifty-eyed lay-abouts. (Just like your mother warned you about.)
We’re going to start doing better, though.

Check out our new ad in XPOZ Magazine, and if you’re going to be at the MAGIC Trade Show at the end of August, definitely swing by to see us for some goodies. -7/29/08
